As executive vice president and chief administrative officer, Sandra Kapell is responsible for The Madison Square Garden Company's human resources and administrative functions. She joined MSG in January 2016 from Cablevision Systems Corporation, where she held the position of executive vice president, Human Resources and Administration.

Throughout her career, Sandy has focused on creating work environments that drive business results by increasing accountability while still encouraging people to have fun at work. She has built better organizations through enhanced workforce strategies that are anchored in analytics, resulting in improved retention and stronger talent attraction. Sandy has also repositioned several executive management teams for success through periods of significant transformation.

During her three-year tenure with Cablevision, Sandy played a key role in the company's transformation by developing programs that fostered a skilled, high performing workforce and reinvigorated the culture. She championed a number of initiatives that created a compelling employee experience and positioned Cablevision for continued business success.

Previously, Sandy served as SVP and chief human resources officer of Chartis, an AIG company, where she was a key leader in developing and implementing performance and talent management practices that led to the successful recovery of AIG. Prior to that, she was SVP of MetLife and served in numerous senior HR and operations roles.

Sandy is a strong advocate for the advancement and professional development of women in the workplace. In 2011, she was recognized with a Top 10 Women in Business award by PINK, a leading digital platform for career women. She was also named a Wonder Woman by Multichannel News and Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT), where she previously served on the board.

As a mother of two children, Sandy is also passionate about supporting youth organizations. She served a term on the Advisory Council of Children's Rights, which advocates for the rights of foster children. She is also a major supporter of the New York Youth Symphony, where her husband is a board member.

Sandy received her Masters in education from Columbia University and her Bachelors in English from the University of Washington.
