The Theater at Madison Square Garden is a versatile 5,600-seat venue that has served as host to major entertainment and sporting events for more than 30 years. Some of the biggest names in the music world have played the Theater including The Who, Elvis Costello, The Doors, Neil Young, Melissa Etheridge, Kanye West, Van Morrison, Elton John, and Kelly Clarkson. The Theater has also hosted a variety of theatrical productions, family shows and other special events including Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas, The Musical!, Cathy Rigby is Peter Pan, Sesame Street Live, Disney’s Phineas and Ferb and tapings of America’s favorite game show, Wheel of Fortune. In 2013, the venue presented Garden of Laughs, a one-night-only event to benefit the Garden of Dreams Foundation that featured stand-up performances by some of the biggest names in comedy including Adam Ferrara, Darrell Hammond, Robert Klein, Brian Regan, Ray Romano and Wanda Sykes.
Despite being closed for a significant period due to the Transformation, The Theater at MSG is the ninth grossing entertainment venue of its size in the world, based on Billboard Magazine’s 2012 end of year rankings.
