The Theater at Madison Square Garden is a versatile 5,600-seat venue that has hosted major entertainment and sporting events for more than 30 years. Some of the biggest names in music have played the Theater at MSG including The Who, Elvis Costello, Radiohead, Neil Young, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Kanye West, Sara Bareilles, Ellie Goulding, Van Morrison, Ricky Gervais and Jerry Seinfeld. The Theater has also hosted a variety of family shows and performing arts events including ELF The Musical, A Christmas Story, Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas, The Musical!, Sesame Street Live, Disney's Phineas and Ferb; tapings of America's favorite game show, "Wheel of Fortune," and auditions for "America’s Got Talent."
In 2013, the venue presented the first Garden of Laughs, a one-night-only event to benefit the Garden of Dreams Foundation. Featuring stand-up performances by some of the biggest names in comedy, the event was held again in 2015 and is expected to be produced every other year. Participating comedians over the first two editions included Ray Romano, John Oliver, Bill Burr and Lewis Black.
In 2015, the Theater at Madison Square Garden ranked in the top 10 in its venue class of the top grossing venues in Billboard magazine's mid-year charts.
