New York, NY (October 22, 2015) - The college basketball tradition at Madison Square Garden continues when national programs step onto the famed Garden hardwood for the 2015-2016 season. Coming off an exciting year which saw Coach Mike Krzyzewski register his 1,000th victory, college basketball returns to the World's Most Famous Arena for another thrilling season for hoops fans.
The 2015-2016 Madison Square Garden college basketball schedule, presented by Advance Auto Parts, is packed with top national programs, including Syracuse, Villanova, Wisconsin and Duke, and will feature classic matchups, local rivalries and home team favorites. Additionally, the season will include marquee events including the 2K Sports Classic, Big Ten Super Saturday, Jimmy V Classic, Gotham Classic, St. John's University Red Storm and, of course, the BIG EAST Tournament.
One of the most traditional and enduring rivalries in all of sports takes center stage at Madison Square Garden on Saturday, January 23, as the Army Black Knights and the Navy Midshipmen men's and women's basketball teams clash on the MSG hardwood for the very first time.
Big Ten Super Saturday is the first-ever doubleheader of its kind at MSG that will feature both the Michigan and Penn State basketball and hockey teams playing at The Garden on Saturday, January 30, 2016. Big Ten Super Saturday tips off on the hardwood in the afternoon to be followed with a changeover to hockey for the marquee college hockey showdown that evening.

As the "Presenting Partner of College Hoops" at The Garden, Advance Auto Parts will receive brand exposure inside the arena during a select lineup of premier college basketball tournaments and games. The company will serve as the Presenting Partner of the Holiday Festival and Maggie Dixon Classic and will have branding opportunities at the NIT, Jimmy V Classic, 2K Classic, Gotham Classic and all St. John's games. In addition, Advance Auto Parts will have the opportunity to engage fans with on-court and digital promotions.
Additionally, a number of industry leading companies will partner with MSG Sports for the College Basketball season, including: Coca-Cola Zero, Delta Air Lines, Kia Motors, Cushman & Wakefield, Coloredge, Hooters, UPS and The Rock. All will receive promotion via MSG's unique array of assets, including digital courtside signage, branding on the multimedia displays, GardenVision and other promotions.
The season kicks off with the nationally televised 2K Classic Benefiting Wounded Warrior Project. The semifinal matchups, which take place on November 20, will feature Wisconsin vs. Georgetown followed by Duke vs. Virginia Commonwealth University. All four teams will return on November 22 for the consolation and championship games.
The annual Madison Square Garden Holiday Festival Presented by Advance Auto Parts is back for another classic matchup on Sunday, December 6, teaming up local rivals. The Holiday Festival is the longest-running in-season college basketball event and will feature favorites St. John's and St. Francis in the marquee game as Chris Mullin makes his MSG debut as the head coach of St. John’s. Appalachian State will take on Hofstra in game two.
On Tuesday, December 8, the Jimmy V Classic returns to Madison Square Garden featuring matchups of top programs – West Virginia Mountaineers and the Virginia Cavaliers in game one followed by the Maryland Terrapins and the UConn Huskies. All four teams will come together to raise funds for The V Foundation for Cancer Research.
Less than a week later, an old Big East rivalry returns as St. John's takes on Syracuse for New York bragging rights on Sunday, December 13.
Coach K and Duke return to The Garden to take on Utah in a rematch of last season's Sweet 16 matchup in the Ameritas Insurance Classic set for December 19. The last time the Blue Devils faced the Utes at Madison Square Garden was in 1970, with Utah advancing in the NIT with a 78-75 victory.
The Gotham Classic is back at Madison Square Garden and will feature Pittsburgh vs. Davidson on Sunday, December 20.
The annual Maggie Dixon Classic Presented by Advance Auto Parts, honoring the life of Army's charismatic head coach, on Monday, December 28 will have Maryland square off against three-time defending NCAA national champion, UConn.
In its 32nd consecutive season, the 2016 BIG EAST Tournament returns to The Garden Wednesday, March 9 through Saturday, March 12.
The 79th Annual Postseason NIT concludes the Garden schedule on Tuesday, March 29 with the semifinals and the Championship set for Thursday, March 31.
