MSG Network Announces "Carmelo Anthony: Made In NY" Premiering Tuesday, December 2 at 10:30PM

30-Minute Special Chronicles Anthony's Free Agency Period
and His Decision to Return to the New York Knicks

 

New York, NY (November 24, 2014) - MSG Network will give fans a rare insider’s view of the free agency process with “Carmelo Anthony: Made in NY,” a new 30-minute special chronicling Anthony’s 2014 free agency period. From a private jet to the superstar’s home, the special puts viewers right next to Anthony as he travels to Chicago, Los Angeles, Dallas, and Houston to meet with the Bulls, Lakers, Mavericks, and Rockets. The special features footage from every step of the process, with exclusive access to Anthony and his management team. “Carmelo Anthony: Made in NY” will premiere with a commercial-free airing on Tuesday, December 2 at 10:30 p.m. following the Knicks home game against the Brooklyn Nets.

Anthony talks about his decision to stay with the New York Knicks saying:

“There’s only a couple people in any genre that are made for NY, whether its music, whether its fashion, whether its sports. It’s so nice they named it twice.”

“I’ve grown up on that concrete. There’s nothing that can happen there that I don’t know how to handle it. I was running around in the projects and not knowing what was gonna happen next and whether my dreams were gonna come true or if I had dreams at all. I was one of those kids. So to see it full circle now, it’s a great thing for me.”

“I want to come back. I’m willing to stay here and I’m willing to ride or die for New York.”

Anthony on free agency:

“I’ve been recruited in college before but not to this level. I never took visits, so this is reliving my college days, high school days getting recruited. It’s kind of similar to that feeling but at a much higher scale.”

This is their first venture as a team but felt strongly that this journey was one to share.
