MSG Entertainment Names Bill Crandall SVP of Digital Content and Óli Stephensen SVP of Digital Products

New York, NY (November 20, 2014) - MSG Entertainment (MSGE) today announced that Bill Crandall has been named senior vice president, digital content and Óli Stephensen has been named senior vice president digital products.

Mr. Crandall will oversee the digital content strategy for Entertainment, creating and leading the division voice through social media channels. Mr. Stephensen will lead the development and execution of Entertainment’s digital products across all platforms and devices to increase viewership, improve the consumer experience, and enhance brand awareness and customer loyalty.

In his new role, Mr. Crandall will oversee the strategy of all forms of digital content creation by developing and executing all Entertainment related content for all digital platforms. Mr. Crandall will be responsible for increasing brand engagement by supporting all live productions, concerts and family shows, and creating new content that provides value to be optimized for search across all digital channels. Additionally, he will create and lead the voice of Entertainment through social media channels by developing standards, systems and best practices for digital content creation, distribution and measurement.

Mr. Stephensen will oversee all current and new digital initiatives for MSGE’s productions and brands in an effort to drive audience ticket sales and sponsorship opportunities. In this new role, he will create the strategy and explore the development of digital products and services across multiple platforms including: online, mobile, games, apps, e-commerce and social media.

Prior to joining MSGE, Mr. Crandall has consulted with AMC Networks and Outbrain on content vision and strategy for a variety of digital endeavors. Previously, he was head of digital content for Wenner Media where he oversaw digital content for Rolling Stone and Men’s Journal. Mr. Crandall has also served as vice president, branded experiences for AOL/Huffington Post and general manager/editor-in-chief of AOL Music. Mr. Crandall holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Delaware.

Mr. Stephensen, prior to joining MSGE, brings more than 16 years of experience in technology, design and product development creating award winning products. He served as chief technology officer for both CBS Interactive Music Group and CBS Radio. Prior to his time at CBS, Mr. Stephensen founded and directed Gangverk, an award-winning start-up in his native Iceland that focused on interactive broadcasting as well as served as the Senior Interactive Architect at R/GA where he led the interactive experiences for Verizon Wireless and Nokia. Mr. Stephensen holds a Bachelors degree from Istituto Europeo Di Design and a Masters Degree in Interactive Telecommunications from New York University.
