New York, NY (November 26, 2013) - MSG Networks has announced that Haggar Clothing Co. is the new presenting sponsor of the critically acclaimed MSG original programs “The Game 365” and “Halls of Fame.”
“Halls of Fame,” the longest-running series on MSG Networks, which is celebrating its 25th Anniversary season, and “The Game 365” are both hosted by veteran broadcaster and former Yankees catcher Fran Healy. New 30-minute episodes of both shows debut on MSG+ each month and feature one-on-one interviews with some of the most famous athletes – and Hall of Famers – of our time as they share the events in their life that led them to greatness.
In addition to its sponsorship of “Halls of Fame” and “The Game 365,” Haggar is the official designer of the Pro Football Hall of Fame gold jacket, seen each year when a select few former players are enshrined in Canton, OH. Haggar also makes the official navy blazer for the Hockey Hall of Fame, which just this month inducted its Class of 2013: Chris Chelios, Geraldine Heaney, Scott Niedermayer and Brendan Shanahan.
A new episode of “Halls of Fame” will feature former Utah Jazz star John Stockton on Sunday, December 8 at 6:00 p.m. Recent 25th Anniversary “Halls of Fame” episodes have included Wayne Gretzky, Dominique Wilkins, Joe Namath, Bernard King, Tom Watson and Gerry Cooney.
The award-winning “The Game 365,” which debuts two new episodes each month, will feature surfing legend Laird Hamilton on Monday, December 2 at 10:30 p.m. and professional wrestling superstar Hulk Hogan on Monday, December 16 at 7:30 p.m.
After playing professional baseball for more than a decade, Healy has spent over 30 years in sports broadcasting for MSG Networks. He served as an announcer for the New York Yankees, from 1979 to 1983, followed by the New York Mets, from 1984 until 2005. During that period, he hosted a number of shows on MSG and MSG+, including "Mets Inside Pitch,” "Hot Stove Report" and "The Pennant Chase." In addition to “Halls of Fame” and “The Game 365,” Healy hosts the award-winning MSG original program, “The Lineup.” He also hosted “Summer of ‘77” and “The Rise and Fall of the ’86 Mets,” both of which won New York Emmy Awards.
MSG Networks is the exclusive local television home of the New York Knicks, New York Rangers, New Jersey Devils, New York Islanders, Buffalo Sabres (Upstate New York only), New York Liberty and New York Red Bulls, and the official regional sports networks of the New York Giants. MSG Networks also telecasts over 135 live college basketball games and over 35 live college football games from top national conferences (ACC, SEC, Big 12, Big East), as well as horse racing, boxing and award-winning original programming. In 2013, MSG Networks received 18 New York Emmy Awards, including 16 for MSG and one each for MSG+ and MSG.com. MSG’s 85 Emmys over the past six years are more than any single network or station in the region during that time.
