MSG Network to Telecast 56 Regular Season Games


New York, NY (December 15, 2011) - The Knicks are back and so is MSG Network's unrivaled coverage of New York's basketball team. To get fans ready for the upcoming season, MSG Network will telecast two training camp specials and two preseason games starting Friday morning. The Knicks regular season games on MSG Network – 56 in total – start Wednesday, December 28 when the team travels west to face the Golden State Warriors. The Knicks on MSG Network are presented by Chase.

Tomorrow from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., "Knicks Training Camp Live" tips off the preseason with unprecedented access to Knicks practice. The live show will then be condensed to a two-hour version that will be telecast at 6:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m. that night, and again on Saturday at noon.

Saturday at 2:00 p.m., the Knicks open the preseason on MSG Network with a trip to New Jersey to face the Nets. The two teams face off again in the preseason on Wednesday, December 21 at 7:30 p.m. at Madison Square Garden. Both telecasts will be followed by a full post-game show.

On Sunday, the Knicks will hold an open practice at Madison Square Garden, the team's first time on the Garden floor this season, and MSG Network will create a 30-minute taped special from that practice. "Knicks Practice Special" presented by Chase will premiere on Monday at 7:30 p.m. and will re-air at 11:00 p.m. that night, at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday and at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, immediately prior to the Knicks' preseason game against the Nets.

MSG Network will telecast 56 of the Knicks' 66 2011-12 regular season games. The team's regular season debut on MSG Network will be Wednesday, December 28 at 10:30 p.m. versus the Golden State Warriors in California. All regular season games will be preceded by the 30-minute pre-game show "Knicks Game Night," and most games will be followed by the "Ford Post-Game" show. The full season schedule is listed below.

Highlights from MSG Network's slate of games include: New York at Oklahoma City on Saturday, January 14 at 8:00 p.m.; New York at Miami on Friday, January 27 at 8:00 p.m.; New York at Boston on Friday, February 3 at 8:00 p.m.; Los Angeles Lakers at New York on Friday, February 10 at 8:00 p.m.; New York at Chicago on Monday, March 12 at 8:00 p.m.; and Orlando at New York on Wednesday, March 28 at 7:00 p.m.

Mike Breen, the league's preeminent play-by-play announcer, will return courtside for his ninth season alongside Knicks analyst and NBA Hall of Famer Walt "Clyde" Frazier. New radio play-by-play man Spero Dedes will serve as Breen's primary fill-in this season.

Returning to Knicks telecasts are Kelly Tripucka as a studio analyst, Tina Cervasio as reporter, and Jill Martin as feature reporter. Alan Hahn, who recently joined MSG Network after 16 years at Newsday, will also contribute to Knicks telecasts as a studio analyst. Al Trautwig will serve as host of Knicks telecasts for all home games on MSG Network and Bill Pidto will handle host responsibilities for road games.
