The Madison Square Garden Company Wins 14 PromaxBDA Sports Media Marketing Awards

MSG Networks Earns One of Six National Titanium Awards for the Industry's

Best Work of the Year and Eight Total Awards

 

New York Knicks Take Home Four Awards and New York Rangers Capture Two Honors

 

New York, NY (November 29, 2011) - The Madison Square Garden Company won fourteen of the prestigious 2011 PromaxBDA Sports Media Marketing Awards, more than any other company in the country. The national competition recognizes outstanding marketing, promotion and design work from cable and broadcast companies, sports leagues, teams and governing bodies.

MSG Networks, which is part of the company's MSG Media division and consists of MSG Network, MSG Plus and MSG Interactive, was one of six companies in the nation – and the only regional network – to take home the prestigious Titanium Award. MSG Networks' eight total awards, including the Titanium Award and five Gold Awards, were more than any other regional network or local station in the country.

Specifically, MSG Networks received the Titanium Award for the Best Use of Original Music or Sound Design for its "MSG Plus Summer Image" campaign. In addition, MSG Networks was honored with seven awards in the Regional and Local Division, including the popular "Knicks Carmelo Coming Home" campaign, which won twice with Gold Awards for Best Spot and Best Use of Music, and the "Knicks From Then Until Now" campaign, featuring the voice of actor John Turturro, which also won a Gold Award for Best Overall Integrated Marketing Campaign. MSG Networks also won an award for its print campaign for WFAN's "Boomer & Carton" show, which is simulcast on MSG Network weekdays from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

The Knicks and Rangers, which are a part of the MSG Sports division, captured a total of six awards, including three Gold Awards, for the teams' marketing, in-arena promotions and digital platforms. The Knicks four awards tied for the most of any sports team. In the Teams, Leagues, Conferences & Collegiate Division, the New York Knicks took home four honors, including three Gold Awards, and the New York Rangers collected two awards. The Knicks' Gold Awards included: the 2011 NBA All-Star campaign called "#1 Reason to Vote Knicks" for Best Editing; the "I'm Not Afraid Video" for Best Use of Music; and the "Carmelo Anthony Debut Open Video" for Best Pre]Game Introduction, Opening or Half]Time Video.
