New First-of-its-Kind Online Community Platform Provides Fans 24/7 Access to Everything Knicks
New York, NY (December 15, 2010) - The New York Knickerbockers today announced the launch of a first-of-its-kind professional sports online community, KnicksNow.com. The new, next-generation site will provide fans with 24/7 access to everything Knicks including exclusive video clips of players, coaches and fans, game highlights, photo galleries, online chats, players Twitter and Facebook feeds, the latest Knicks news stories, and much more.

KnicksNow will provide fans with a continuous array of new and compelling Knicks content that they can consume, discuss with other fans, and share broadly through their social networks. This collection of insider, third party, and fan-generated content is organized into a series of programming features:
KnicksNow is designed to encourage and reward fan participation. Fans earn points by engaging with other fans, sharing content, and contributing to the community. Points can be redeemed for tickets, Knicks gear and to earn access to special opportunities available only on KnicksNow. The site also allows fans to share content with their friends and other fans through their social networks on Facebook and Twitter.
Throughout the season, new applications and features will be added to the site, including a mobile version of KnicksNow that helps fans on the go find venues to watch Knicks games with other fans, interactive tools that allow fans to create polls and debates on KnicksNow, and functionality that enhances the real time game experience live and on TV.
The Knicks have made a strong push in the social media space. In the last six months, the team has seen triple digit percentage growth on Facebook reaching more than 250,000 likes and a double digit percentage increase on Twitter with nearly 45,000 followers. In addition, traffic on NYKnicks.com is up more than 40% year over year.
